Why should I care about my pelvic floor?

46% of women admit to limiting or avoiding exercise because of pelvic floor issues - like pain, leakage, heaviness, prolapse, diastasis recti - and fear of harming themselves.

Your pelvic floor is a set of muscles that lives at the base of your pelvis - everyone has them - and they work to hold organs in, allow you to pee and poop when you want to (and only when you want to), have sexual function, and also assist as a muscle pump for blood flow circulation and fluid management in the abdomen.

Your pelvic floor needs to play nicely with your core canister (really your whole body) for optimal functioning. Pelvic floor issues can even be related to back pain and hip pain - it really does impact function of your whole body.

If you feel limited in daily activities, work tasks, or exercise due to potential pelvic floor or core issues - maybe pelvic floor therapy could be helpful!
